Britvic Education Trust
An Inside Out History
The Britvic Collection is owned and managed by the Britvic Educational Trust, a registered charity with a remit to educate the public about the history and making of soft drinks. It is located at Britvic's site in Beckton and consists of numerous artefacts, including old recipes, ledgers, photographs, vehicles, packaging and promotional materials.
The brief was to review the collection and recommend how it could be presented to best effect, within the Learning Zone at Beckton and to a wider audience.
Our solution was to put the artefacts into the context of the history of soft drinks, diving them up into two broad sections: recipes, ingredients and production; packaging, marketing and promotion, hence the Inside Out Story!
This story was initially told on the walls of the museum, it was then developed into a booklet, a portable display for educational visits, and will soon be appearing on a website.
